Description (last modified by )
Migrating from #wp16589:
There have been some discussions on localized version stats:
- http://lists.automattic.com/pipermail/wp-polyglots/2009-December/003868.html
- http://lists.automattic.com/pipermail/wp-polyglots/2010-July/004859.html
- http://wppolyglots.wordpress.com/2010/12/01/ive-found-some-discussions-about-local-2/
- http://wppolyglots.wordpress.com/2010/08/18/i-am-having-some-problems-with-site-stat/ (related)
Many translators would agree that it would be nice to have them back.
A bit more information in the comments of #wp16589, but essentially as reported.
Part of this is determining where these stats should be displayed.

What is in the original ticket not readily gleamed from this meta ticket:
Quoting [SergeyBiryukov]:
It would be great to see charts like http://wordpress.org/about/stats/ for each locale.

Bringing over the idea from #1053 of a shortcode to allow stats... If we did that, we wouldn't add an attribute for which locale to show, just show stats from the locale of the site we're on.
We'd probably want to do this on the Rosetta sites, but it needs to wait until we do language packs anyway (4.0), since that entire process of stat gathering will change.
