Description
In reference to ticket #947 (which is a closed ticket) where there was concerns about the positioning and prominence of the commercial listings link, I wanted to add something to this if possible. As a theme shop, I can also say there has been a major drop in traffic from the commercial listings. When the theme directory was redesigned and the commercial link was easily missed, I thought I would give a few months to see what happens with traffic.
Obviously the team here made some adjustments, and any adjustment is an improvement, but I have a possible option with the current position and styling for the commercial link, which I've attached to this ticket. It's a mockup with the Commercial Themes and Upload your Theme as buttons. This method could alleviate the frustrations as presented by some theme shops, while still providing a strong emphasis on the new theme directory style because of the screenshots on the page.
The mockups I have show a standard WP button blue colour but there's the option of the grey which could work out best. Ultimately the idea is to keep the links where they are, but make them buttons.

The "button" style you use is not really appropriate for their location and does not match the established styles we have on WordPress.org. More specifically, these are not buttons, they are links. I don't think we should consider making them look like buttons.

Fair enough...how about a 1px larger font and bold? I noticed the coding is shown as bold but it's overwritten by the styling for links which is set as normal.
How about this as a compromise?
#menu-theme-directory a { font-weight: 600; font-size: 14px; }
It's a minor adjustment and keeps the links as text links (no buttons), but does bring it a little more in view with the font being 14px instead of 13px and the font weight.
