Description
There are currently 2 ways for a WordPress.org user to have a "special" status in plugin support forums:
- If you have commit access to a plugin:
- you'll get a "Plugin Author" badge in your plugin's support forums,
- you will be able to stick / unstick threads to your forum's page,
- you will be able to mark a thread as resolved.
- If you're listed as a plugin author in the readme.txt, without having commit access:
- you'll get the same badge when posting in the plugin's support forums,
- you won't have any other extra permissions.
The ability to stick threads as well as mark them as resolved can be very handy for people handling support for a plugin.
It would be nice if all plugin authors were able to mark threads as resolved and stick / unstick threads. That would allow plugins with a dedicated support team to give them all the tools they need, without giving them commit access.

Note, sticky power is not currently there for Contributors. Will revisit if it becomes necessary to add that. Resolve seems to be more requested.

Is this change live yet?
I've been wondering about this before and just came across this ticket (GREAT!), but having just added someone new to our Contributors list, they don't get the green badge or the ability to mark tickets as resolved. Caching or am I just being impatient?

Correct, the change is live. The green "Plugin Author" badge is not part of this, it's been around for a long time, so I suspect caching is to blame in your case.

since the last update of plugins support forum, plugin contributors cannot mark support thread as resolved anymore. Is this a bug?
Just recording my agreement for this. A contributor should be able to mark a thread as resolved, and quite possibly stick a thread as well.
