#1419 closed enhancement (fixed)
Subdomain links are not working on the w.org domain

Description
http://w.org is redirecting to http://wordpress.org, but the subdomains are not redirecting the same way.
So http://nl.w.org does not redirect to http://nl.wordpress.org/
This is true for every rosetta site (de, ru, ro, etc.), I think.
But this affects not only the Rosetta sites. It also affects GlotPress:
http://translate.w.org/ does not work, too.
We often use deworg as an acronym for the rosetta site in Germany, so it would be great if these links would be working.
(Don't know which Component or Keyword would be best, so I leave this open for anyone who is smarter than me ... ;)

It's not really intended to be a redirect-all-the-things domain.
Ah, okay! It was just an idea :)
Should I close this ticket then?

- Resolution set to maybelater
- Status changed from new to closed
I'll mark it as maybelater, for now. I'm uncertain as to any future plans for the w.org domain.

@Otto42 It would be great to have these redirect properly (and any other typo domains we have mapped as well).
The w.org site redirecting to wordpress.org is kind of a happy accident, it is not necessarily intended as such.
The w.org domain is actually used for our assorted CDNs. It's not really intended to be a redirect-all-the-things domain. Adding additional subdomains to it is probably outside of the intended scope, and perhaps a pain for maintenance.
Systems would have to be consulted as to whether this is possible with the current configuration. I'm guessing the answer here is "not at this time".
