download localized latest.zip version

Downloading wp.org/latest.zip is very useful, but if you want to download a localized version you have to know the version, like wp.org/latest_IT_4.5.2.zip.
Should be a good idea to have also this path with the latest localized version?

I think it could be dangerous when the same file named latest.zip has different contents, it should be better to have many files name as many different localizations/content we have: (es. latest_IT.zip, latest_FR.zip, etc...)

My first option remains latest.zip under the wordpress.org of the locale. So that would be something like:
it.wordpress.org/latest.zip
fr-be.wordpress.org/latest.zip

If the final decision is to keep them centrally on wordpress.org, they could be named per locale:
wordpress.org/latest-it_IT.zip
wordpress.org/latest-fr_BE.zip

How about e.g. nl_NL ? The normal ​https://nl.wordpress.org/latest-nl_NL.zip works fine, but that's the default one. What is the link to 'Formal', because ​https://nl.wordpress.org/latest-nl_NL-formal.zip does not seem to work.

Since 2007 ... ok I still have a lot to find out :-)

For the 'formal' one, the Dutch one was maybe a bad example because they are at 94%, but the Germans are at 100% with Formal (​https://translate.wordpress.org/locale/de/formal/wp/dev) so let me rephrase that to ​https://de.wordpress.org/latest-de_DE-formal.zip that does not seem to exist. Do you think something else is needed or missing?
