Many Google search results for wordpress questions are bringing up dead forum posts (404 Page not found)

When double checking, I'm not certain it's sending the 404 header, but it's certainly a missing page error message.

I asked about this at WordPress Stackexchange and one other person commented "...search results for topics on WordPress.org have been 404ing like crazy lately." This might be normal page attrition, but it might also be an actual defect.

Thanks for the report, we're already tracking this issue in #1954.

To clarify a bit more, WordPress.org support forums were upgraded to bbPress 2.x a few weeks ago (see #1544), and eventually there should be a redirect from old topic URLs, but it hasn't been set up yet, since there are some other issues that have a higher priority: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/forum-bugs-and-broken-things/.
