Support Theme: No easy access to your profile

In all previous versions of the theme we've had the username displayed at the top of the page which takes you to the bbPress, in the new theme there is no clean way unless you know the URL your self or go find one of your previous posts.

One alternative would be changing the profile link in the admin bar to redirect to the profile page of our choosing instead of the default WordPress one, and making the bar visible to all users.

Yeah, the issue with large screen-wide subheadings is that some important links are gone and now require additional actions instead of a single click.

Not having an easy link to one's profile is certainly annoying. I think not having the related log in/out links that were next to the profile link is an even bigger problem.

It'd also be nice to have a log in link in the "You must be logged in to reply to this topic" message that appears where the reply form usually occurs.

On a related note, it would also be nice to bring the "All Topics | No Replies | Not Resolved | No Tags" links somewhere closer to the header to avoid too much scrolling, see #1873.

I think it's mentioned, but adding the wp admin bar to the top seems the way to go (the black bar at the very top).

If user is not logged in, they'll see something like this:

The toolbar is currently only shown if the current user is a "real" member of at least one site on w.org. But we should be able to force the toolbar to be always there.

I'm not sure I understand what a "real" member means, but if we can force it to show, I think that's the way to go. The login ability is essential here.

Sorry, by "real" I mean a user who has a role like editor, author, moderator etc. and not a bbPress role like ​blocked, spectator or participant.

Support Theme: Add logged-in user account link.

Provide forum users with a link into their own bbPress profile page, where they can manage their favorites and subscriptions.

This functionality can be integrated into the support header once we have a more unified user profile.

I think this is as good as it gets for now. Changing the profile link in the admin bar seems less than ideal as it'd cause an inconsistency between admin bars across WordPress.org.

I agree with @samuelsidler that we shouldn't change the admin bar behavior. There's no reasonable place to put it on the forum landing page, which is the only page not showing it at this time, and users will rarely be looking for their profile on that page I feel.
