Description

a thought on the new UI -- make the sidebar 20% and the entry-content 75%. Give more room to the content. none of the links on the sidebar require going to 30%.

I like keeping it at 30%, the sidebar accounts for more than just a few view links, it has to work with plugin and theme pages (with icons), and also translations which are generally longer than English strings, so giving them a little bit more to work with is fine.

  • Summary changed from sidebar too wide to Support Theme: Sidebar too wide

I actually like the sidebar as is. As @Clorith mentioned, it's more friendly for translations, and localized forum admins always appreciate UIs that don't cause unnecesary wrapping.

I agree the sidebar on the new forum theme does seem too wide, so the actual content area has been reduced.

  • Resolution set to wontfix
  • Status changed from new to closed

The theme needs to remain flexible for all locales, closing for now per comment:1 and comment:2.
