bbPress 2.x displays an edit log for edited posts, but its value is limited without an access to actual post revisions.
Sometimes the reason for editing is specified, but generally this isn't the case.
I think it would be helpful if keymasters and moderators could view each revision separately, as in core WordPress UI.
