#2408 closed defect (fixed)

Profiles: Archived forum replies are still displayed on Activity tab

Description

See the screenshots.

That particular example is innocuous, but in general archived replies might include profanity and such. They are not displayed in forum profiles, so should be removed from WP.org profiles as well.

They are not displayed in forum profiles

Apparently they are still displayed if the whole topic was archived instead of individual replies, see #2504.

In 9824:

Profiles: When notifing profiles.wordpress.org of activity, strip tags and shortcodes from the title and content.

Additionally, remove support forum replies/topics from the activity feeds when they're Archived.

See #2408.
Fixes #3162, #5194.

I think that probably is enough for this ticket, I only realised while writing the commit message that there was probably a ticket for this.

Removing existing archived topics/replies from the DB is not an easy task, nor is doing it at display time.

Not "easy", but the script is running (and will be for a few days).

I'm going to close this as fixed for now, just noting that it'll probably take all week before it's finished.
