#2443 closed defect (bug) (fixed)

no rDNS on

Reported by: zero85's profile zero85 Owned by: dd32's profile dd32
Milestone: Priority: normal
Component: Communication (Matrix, Slack, IRC) Keywords:

i wondered why i never got emails from wordpress about my slack account and notifications etc.

So i checked my mail-server logs and found the problem, the has no rDNS set, so my mail-server rejected those mails.

everything from slack / goes over, don't know if there are more services.

I had to reconfigure my postfix and remove the option "reject_unknown_reverse_client_hostname" from "smtpd_recipient_restrictions" to get all those mails.

As far as i know, on many mail-servers these option is active, mailcow has it in default active.

Hi @zero85,

A rDNS entry has been added to the forwarder, can you confirm that it looks like it's fixed now? Thanks!

Hi @dd32,

i activated the option "reject_unknown_reverse_client_hostname" from "smtpd_recipient_restrictions" again and the mails are now accepted.

Thank you!
