Support Theme: Remove extra lines from above blockquote-formatted text

Reported by: zoonini's profile zoonini Owned by: sergeybiryukov's profile SergeyBiryukov
Milestone: Priority: normal
Component: Support Forums Keywords: close
Cc:

Description

To replicate:

  1. Write two paragraphs of text in either a forum post or reply
  2. Select the second paragraph
  3. Click the "blockquote" formatting button in the toolbar

Result:

Several extra blank lines are added above the blockquote, which then need to be removed.

Expected:

Applying blockquote tags to a paragraph should not add extra blank lines before the quote.

Note: the same issue occurs with the first paragraph in a post but it might be more obvious to see the issue in subsequent paragraphs.

  • Keywords close added

bbPress inherits this behaviour from WordPress, the same behaviour can be seen when editing a WordPress post or page using the "text editor".

I had a quick look and couldn't find a #core Trac ticket for this, I think this ticket should be closed in favor of a core ticket
