#3296 closed defect (bug) (maybelater)

Regular users can change 'priority' in meta tickets.

Description

In Core Handbook we can read:

Severity and Priority: (...) The priority is the seriousness of the ticket in
the eyes of the project. (...) Only committers and trusted core contributors
have the ability to modify the priority.

But everyone can change priority in a ticket in Meta.
For example this ticket or this ticket.

I believe the issue here is that most of our restrictions are only placed upon core.trac, and not meta.trac/others.

Is there a way to add to meta.trac/others (sorry... I have no idea how to do it to help).

Hi @mariovalney, thanks for your suggestion!

The ticket you linked to is a good example of where that might get a little out of hand. But from what I can tell, this has been a sporadic problem at best?
How about we monitor that behavior a little longer before we make changes to meta.trac, what do you think?

  • Priority changed from normal to lowest

Hi @obenland !

You are right: it's seems a very sporadic problem. So I agree with you to just monitor this behavior by now.

My suggestion was made because it's already setted to core.trac... so... why not? haha

  • Resolution set to maybelater
  • Status changed from new to closed

Great! Please feel free to reopen if you observe a noticeable uptick of that behavior (that goes beyond it happening every once in a while)!

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
