#3766 closed enhancement (maybelater)

Add active installs and total string count to the plugin/theme box

Description

In the box (not sure if it's called a box or something else), I would suggest we can see the total number of strings found (from API: current_count) and the number of active installations this plugin/theme has.

This is the "box" I refer to:

(The count can be displayed somewhere else too...)

The reason is that we started to translate in fr-CA. There is probably 0.1% of the job that is done. We have to start somewhere. If we can tackle plugins/themes by how low the number of strings is and by how used they are, it will help us deliver faster meaningful results.

What we do is we "copy" strings from fr-FR and adapt them. That is why knowing how many strings in total there is will help a lot. Reviewing and adapting 10 strings in a plugin with 100 000 active installs is faster to do than if it has 1000 strings. You get the point.

To me, the number of strings is a lot more meaningful than the project count.

Both counts don't seem very valuable for regular translators and aren't really worth the effort. Closing as maybelater for now.

The total number of string is already available and simply not displayed. I do think it's valuable and a copy/paste of the variable somewhere in that box is almost effortless.

For the second one, though, I agree the effort is bigger... a lot bigger.

Maybe we can settle in the middle ? ;-)
