See the attached screen shot. It loads forever without doing anything in Safari 6.1.3.

That's the notification dropdown. It comes from the Jetpack Notifications thingy, and you have to link your account to your WordPress.ocm account for it to do anything.

Perhaps remove the icon when the account isn't linked? Last I heard, wordpress.org is not supposed to be related to wordpress.com, or did that change at some point since 2006?

I'd also wager it doesn't give the best impression to users who are not aware of the difference between the two. As in "doh, a bug!"

We're running a slightly modified older version of Jetpack right now, for reasons. I'm still looking at what it would take to do an overall update there, which might fix this and a few other nagging problems.
