Linking from ​http://wordpress.org/download/source/ to the "convenient web interface," there is a page with only one option, for the WordPress Trunk, and clicking on that yields a 403 Forbidden error.

Further, the /download/source page should be linked to from ​http://wordpress.org/about/license/ and maybe also ​http://wordpress.org/about/gpl/ and probably also ​http://make.wordpress.org/ (at least, ​http://make.wordpress.org/core/) and the new contributor handbook (​https://make.wordpress.org/core/handbook/). It's surprisingly hard for a newcomer to be able to even find source to browse through.

For what it's worth, the source is linked on make/core. There's a link in the header area that looks like this: <>

OK, fair enough that the link exists on that page, though discoverability could still be improved overall.

The difference between ​https://code.trac.wordpress.org/browser and ​https://core.trac.wordpress.org/browser might also be difficult for a newcomer to pick up on.
