Ticket #4638, comment 9
initial v1 5 5 Some of the country names in the CampTix list don't exactly match ISO 3166. For example, "Congo, (Brazzaville)" and "Congo, (Congo Kinshasa)" are in the CampTix list, but [https://www.wikiwand.com/en/List_of_ISO_3166_country_codes ISO 3166] has "Congo, Democratic Republic of the" and "Congo (the)". There are other discrepancies as well. 6 6 7 In any case, I agree with what many of the commenters on [https://www.drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/1938892 Drupal's page] that Ian linked earlier. I agree that CLDR is a more suitable list for our purpose. F ullcode list in XML/CSV/XLS formats are available [https://www.iso.org/publication/PUB500001.html for purchase] (see [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Organization_for_Standardization#Criticism related Wikipedia section]) while small sample portions & [https://www.iso.org/obp/ui/#search/code/ online browsable version] are free. Using CLDR's JSON format of county code & names can be a better source for up-to-date information.7 In any case, I agree with what many of the commenters on [https://www.drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/1938892 Drupal's page] that Ian linked earlier.
