Under API section in the following paragraph:
The following example in JavaScript creates a new block using InnerBlocks and templates, when inserted creates a set of blocks based off the template.

Hi @wpfed. Thanks for reporting this. Those documentation issues are currently being handled in the Gutenberg github repo. It looks like it's already been reported here:
https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/15767
As this has been reported upstream, I'll close this ticket.
