bbPress 2.x has been in use for a few years now, it's probably time to lock off the remnants of the old 1.x install, which is still available at https://wordpress.org/support/bb-admin/
Marked high because having old systems around just gives me the hibijibis :)

Just noting that meta devs/systems agree, we just haven't taken the plunge to do so, I've been fearing what would break in all honesty.

I think I've removed the last few things that used the bbPress install earlier in the year, so it's probably time to rm the svn:external and see what breaks (Hopefully nothing).
