Unpublished (Pending) HelpHub articles should redirect to english version for not editors

Hi,

I'm part of the team that translates WordPress documentation into French.
This translation is done post by post and not everything is translated yet.
This is why in some posts there are links that point to posts that are still in English.
All links pointing to another post in the documentation are relative links starting with "/support/article/slug-of-post".

When we translate a post that contains links to others posts of documentation, we do not modify the relative links, since we don't translate the slug of the post.

Since the link has not been modified, when the target post of the link is translated, it will be displayed in the same language as the post in which the link is located.

However, when a visitor, not connected to wordpress.org, clicks on a link that targets a post not yet translated, a 404 error occurs.

Example, in the post:"Sauvegarder votre base de données" (​https://fr.wordpress.org/support/article/backing-up-your-database/)
the link Administration (/support/article/administration-screens/) in the "Sauvegarder" paragraph (​https://fr.wordpress.org/support/article/backing-up-your-database/#sauvergarder) returns:

• 404 error - ​https://fr.wordpress.org/support/article/administration-screens/, if the user isn’t connected to wordpress.org.
• ​https://fr.wordpress.org/support/article/administration-screens/ (not yet translated), if the user is connected to wordpress.org.

How can this 404 error be corrected?

Its normal to show 404 error on unpublished (pending/draft) article.
You can see unpublished/drafts because you have permission to do so, everyone else will see 404.

There is nothing to fix on the meta site. Just continue working on articles and publish them.

Another idea: would it be possible to redirect to wordpress.org/support/slug-of-post, if the post is a draft
