  • Ticket #5755 – Description

    initial v1
11When one wants to change their WordPress.org password, some people make their way to their support profile, and if they make it that far, this is what they see:
    22
    3 *insert attachment 1*
     3[[Image(https://i0.wp.com/meta.trac.wordpress.org/raw-attachment/ticket/5755/one.png?w=400)]]
    44
55It's not clear that clicking 'Generate Password' is how you set a custom password

77Upon clicking Generate Password, you see this:
    88
    9 *insert attachment 2*
     9[[Image(https://i0.wp.com/meta.trac.wordpress.org/raw-attachment/ticket/5755/two.png?w=400)]]
    1010
1111Not the greatest, but it's obvious (to me) that you can change the password.

1313However, once you change the password to a "bad" password, you see this:
    1414
    15 *insert attachment 3*
     15[[Image(https://i0.wp.com/meta.trac.wordpress.org/raw-attachment/ticket/5755/three.png?w=400)]]
    1616
1717That confirm box is basically "I confirm I want to use a weak password" and should say that, or a variant of it.
