Description

Hey there,

Hope you are doing really well.

I was just browsing to WordPress jobs at https://jobs.wordpress.net/
I found that when I was trying to filter the jobs using POSITION TYPES, it was giving an incorrect count for the result.

To reproduce this issue, you can follow these steps:

  1. Browse to https://jobs.wordpress.net/
  2. Filter through any of the POSITIONS available. Let's say, General

I am getting the message "There are no jobs in this category. If you're hiring, you can post a new job."
And on the top of the list view, I can see 4 jobs

  • Milestone Improved Search deleted
  • Summary changed from The Job count defers on WordPress Jobs Listing to Occasionally incorrect job category job counts

I believe this occurs when jobs are automatically pruned, which is done via cron. The cached category count is probably not getting updated so it continues to reflect the pre-pruned count until another job in that category gets published (or maybe also when a job in that category gets closed?).
