Description

Hello,

I seems that the automatically-generated link to Rosetta websites is missing from the last changes on WordPress.org theme.

IIRC, this link was generated based on the language of the user agent of the visitor. Is it possible to restore this useful feature please?

It would be nice to at least restore it on WordPress.org homepage, but ideally it would be present on each page and also on the .org/news blog pages :)

Thanks :)

Replying to audrasjb:

I inadvertently broke this on 2022-01-10 while upgrading the javascript for it. Should be restored now with r18474-dotorg.

As there's no reliable localised variant of the news blog, this isn't possible at present.
While many locales do translate blog posts, there's no guarantee of it or even expectation placed upon locale teams for it. There's a much larger discussion to be had about translations of those posts.

I should also mention, the URLs the WordPress.org locale banner is present on are these:

There's probably room to expand the URLs to all of the static pages, but not right now, that would probably be best taken into account with News translations.
