#6372 new feature request

Ability to remove Geolocation EXIF data

Description

Photos can have geolocation included in the metadata. The submission process should allow contributors to tick a box to have this data removed from a photo. An option should also be exposed to photos that have already been accepted and are included in the directory for contributors to remove location coordinate metadata from the file.

Some photos are nice to include this data while other times it is not. For example, a photo of the grand canyon or other public space is interesting to include, but a photo at someone's private residence (even when there are no people in it) may expose some private data to the internet.

Looking through some photos in the directory, I'm able to find plenty of images that do include the data. Note this is in the original image only, and not in the resized versions.

We discussed about this in a #photos meeting, many were in favour of adding an option "Remove GPS data" that is checked per default. https://wordpress.slack.com/archives/C0337A01LHW/p1701443674635449
