#6526 reopened enhancement

Add context to support forum search results

Description

Do a search for a word like "security". The only way to know the context of these items is if the OP added the name of the plugin or core area to the subject. Since doing so is redundant when someone is posting a note in a support forum dedicated to a specific area, most requests are not labelled such.

See screenshot. What do you think is the context for any of those items ... aside from "All In One WP Security". Are the requests about core, a plugin, a theme, custom development?

Suggestion 1

Ref #6525 (Add context to support forum topic URI). The context would show in the green URI and this request for enhancement would be satisfied.

Suggestion 2

Note all of the requests have "Labelled Support Forums. Use this meta field to insert context labels.
1) Core, Theme, Plugin, or Development
2) A slug for a theme or plugin. (Preferred since names change)

Therefore:
Labelled: Support Forums, Core, installation
Labelled: Support Forums, Theme, twenty-twentytwo
Labelled: Support Forums, Plugin, akismet

Suggestion 3

Consider setting the thumbnail to something othr than the generic WordPress logo - perhaps the featured image for the relevant plugin or theme.

Summary

I'd like to see all of these implemented. Any would be an improvement. TY

Note

Image subject to removal on final determination of this request.

No - this is not a dupe of 6525. This discusses a completely different problem where there might be a common solution. Implement the solution and "perhaps" this ticket can be Resolved. But if that ticket is not processed then neither is this one and then neither issue is resolved.

I agree that this is related to 6525 but not a duplicate per se and I really like the idea of including the plugin's name in the meta title. It seems relatively easy to implement and would have a positive impact not just in internal searches but also in organic search engine results.

Noting here that 3388 is relevant here. Implementing Elasticsearch would also open new possibilities to handle and display al kinds of meta in the search results.
