#6813 new defect (bug)

Converting classic editor to blocks outputs HTML code

Description

When I edited one of my older reviews I converted the classic view to blocks. After saving the review it is now visible as HTML code. See: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/this-used-to-be-one-of-my-favorite-plugins/

This one is hard to reproduce, because it needs to be tested with a review that was created before the block editor was introduced.

I had this too with https://wordpress.org/support/topic/awesomeness-48/ - a moderator fixed it by probably going back to 1 classic block in the content, not sure though. But yeah, I do think this is an edge-case though, not many users go back and forth and edit an older review.

This was partially fixed via [13548].

I suspect there's still an issue in that the Review Editor loads the old review in the Block Editor which doesn't work perfectly.

It's likely we'll cease allowing edits of old reviews in favour of new reviews though; See #7595

This is likely closable.
