#6881 new defect (bug)

Accessibility issues in Make blog comment fields

Description

Nalini Thakor brought up how accessibility tools such as Dragon app, Google dictation, and Microsoft dictation cannot write successfully in the comment section of make blogs. In one instance, content kept getting duplicated without a way to delete it. (See original Slack conversation here.)

When a redesign happens on Make blogs, could we make sure accessibility tools write correctly in the comment fields, too, please? (I am submitting this on behalf of Nalini. Please reach out to them in Slack for more information.)

Unfortunately the version of the software (p2/o2) we use for the make blogs is no longer maintained, we need to migrate to the new version of P2, which is not a simple process due to the level of customizations we have built on top of it. Furthermore, the latest maintained version of P2, last I checked, wasn't usable for our purposes.

It's likely that this isn't going to be fixed with any redesign.

Oh, that's too bad. But thanks for explaining.
