Photo Directory images not marked as "photograph" on Openverse

Description
When you filter Openverse search results by "Image type" and select "Photographs", it seems that no images from the Photo Directory show up.
Example: https://openverse.org/search/image?q=elephant%20zoo&license=cc0&category=photograph
I have no idea how the indexing of PD images by Openverse happens. But since the submission guidelines pretty much guarantee that all images in the Photo Directory are in fact photographs, it seems logical to categorize them as such.

It's looking like this is a bug on the Openverse side and not the Photo Directory. The "Image Type" filter, in general, isn't behaving correctly.
