Before #wp22811 can be completed, s.wordpress.org needs a SSL certificate setup.

I believe this is not possible. s.wordpress.org cannot do SSL. Check with barry to be sure, but I'm going with "no".

The current plan here is to not have SSL for s.wordpress.org, and instead just serve any assets directly over https://wordpress.org. The main stylesheet does this using a .no-static body class.

Tracerouting s.wordpress.org and wordpress.com static hostnames like s0.wp.com shows that both are on EdgeCast, and those wp.com hostnames are available on both HTTP and HTTPS so maybe it is possible.
