I'm wondering if a better way would be to adjust the make.wordpress.org homepage to have a callout to the contribute selection guide before the tiles instead?

Having the full list of teams and short descriptions handy is nicer than being dropped straight into a wizard IMHO.

I personally believe a bunch of people would see the wizard and bounce from the page rather than completing it - It's useful, but you need to have some context of "I want to contribute" first

I agree with Dion here. The main Make landing site could benefit from having a callout above the grid of teams that directs visitors to the wizard. E.g., roughly,

I like it until we see Make get a refresh. Are any locales translating that top Make page? If not, I think we can ship quickly then (helpful before flagship camps)

The theme is coded to allow translations, but I don't believe it is registered as a project available to be translated. That would only really consist of the stuff above the teams grid. Each team block is a custom post type, so those wouldn't be translated anyhow.
