Description
I recently posted a comment on https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/62549 - however my comment disappeared without a trace.
Could anybody shed some light on what happened?

I can see that it appears that multiple comments from that ticket from multiple users were removed
Does this mean that some admin/mod users see that a comment was removed?
I think that would make sense in general - since just making comments vanish by people who are the OP or have commented on the ticket previously, seems like a bad idea.
In Github, all comments (even Spam ones that are removed, unless the account is blocked) are kept without content to at least show that there was a comment there and you get a notification that your comment was removed.
But just stealthily removing comments is counter-productive for a transparent environment

Trac does not support history or spam status of comments, nor is it likely productive to keep them (While this case you may feel was warranted to keep; I promise that there are many spam comments every week that are removed and provide zero benefit to anyone, just ask the Core team)
There exists an email archive of emails that Trac has sent however, and Trac comments are sent to Slack.
I can't help any further with this, nor can I comment on who/why removed the comments past what I've already said.
If you don't get the answers you wish from either my comments here, or from talking directly to the Core team, the only other option is the IRT team which wouldn't have any further information than already provided.

In Github, all comments (even Spam ones that are removed, unless the account is blocked) are kept without content
As @dd32 mentioned above Trac doesn't have this functionality built-in. However when a new comment is posted, it gets "mirrored" both in the Trac mailing list and on Slack. This serves pretty much the same (archival) purpose. You can see all comments that have ever been posted there.
If you believe a comment was removed in error, best would be to submit an incident report explaining the case and pointing to the archives.
Hi @kkmuffme,
This isn't the appropriate place to ask for this, however, I'm not sure where best to direct you. The best location I can think of is #core on the WordPress.org slack.
Off-topic, spam, and abusive comments are often removed from Trac when it's required to provide a friendly space for all contributors.
That might also result in removal of other peoples comments (ie. you) when it's in response to a removed comment, if it doesn't provide any further context for the ticket.
I can see that it appears that multiple comments from that ticket from multiple users were removed, but I'm unable to see by whom, other than personally, I feel a few comments were off-topic/abusive.
Note: I'm going to close this ticket as invalid, purely as this is not a bug.
