Plugin directory search is not working

Description
I searched the term "woocommerce" in the plugin directory, and it's not showing the woocommerce plugin in the first 10 pages(haven't checked beyond that)

ditto. I noticed this yesterday, when I search (from within the "Add Plugin" screen on a site) for "Wordfence". The first result returned was "Wordfence Login Security", but "Wordfence Security – Firewall, Malware Scan, and Login Security" wasn't shown in the 1st few pages (forget how many I actually looked at), and it's normally the 1st hit (with "Wordfence Login Security" being the 2nd).

Just noting that the ElasticSearch team at Automattic (Which we're using via Jetpack Search) initiated a full index rebuild, and the search has been switched to read from that new index now.
It seems that the search is operating as expected now.

I can confirm that this issue is occurring with other plugins too.
The plugins team has already escalated the issue. I am also changing the priority of this ticket.
