IRC logger stopped logging on June 11

For years, traffic on the WordPress IRC channels has been logged. It appears the logging stopped, for the still active #wordpress IRC channel, on June 11, 2026.

If IRC is to be continued, we need logs to properly moderate its activity.

Yes, expected. The IRC logger was shutdown and the historical logs are available at ​https://irclogs.wordpress.org. Based on a review of activity, IRC was completely inactive and everything is in Slack at this point (or other places like Reddit, Discord, Facebook, etc. that we don't log).

At this point, since the channel is unmoderated, it should be shut down. We'll talk about that on slack.
