Wow ... that was long but there you have it.

Go to an author page, for example: ​https://wordpress.org/themes/author/automattic/
Click on any theme's "More info" button to open its modal window.
Close the modal window and the underlying page refreshes to the Featured themes page (home page?) ... ​https://wordpress.org/themes/browse/featured/

I would expect the author page to remain as is when the modal window is closed.
