Rosetta sites doesn't allow https links in website fields (producing defect links)

If you comment on a rosetta site (e.g. German: de.wordpress.org) and you are using a https link for your website, then your link is corrupted on the rosetta website like this:
​http://https//example.org

I have checked the link in the backend. In the admin area everything is fine with the link.
