Wrong language detected/offered on forums and download

When looking at either the support forum or the download WordPress page from a Dutch computer, I am offered to switch to the German forums and download the German version. Seeing as we speak Dutch in The Netherlands, this is not very productive. Screenshots attached.

This string basically says your browser is set to accept languages in the "nl" domain (Netherlands), or in "de" (German).

If you're using Chrome, check what you have in chrome://settings/languages.

Based on that string lang-guess is working correctly here, but it's true that the script has some issues. We'll use #810 as a tracking ticket and try to enhance it this year.

There was an issues with one of the queries which had ignored Dutch and some other locales. This was fixed in [dotorg11558].
