Need a way for people to do this without abusing it. Maybe we remove the ability to report a plugin if you report them for no reason too much. "Bozo" mode. Both security, malware, etc

Some off the paper thoughts... A 'report this plugin' button would need the following to be actually useful:

  • What KIND of report (security, guidelines, others)
  • Restrict 'new' users (to prevent sockpuppet attacks)
  • Automated replies / messages - this email has been sent to...
  • A limit on how many times a specific user can report a plugin
  • Anyone on mod-watch or blocked in the forums is prevented from using the form

And I think that sending the email should go to the developers (anyone with commit access) directly - NOT anon - as well as us (the plugin review team). The lack of anon SHOULD prevent some people from being children, and others... well.

  • Resolution set to maybelater
  • Status changed from new to closed

Due to the complexity of this one, it's being shelved. However if you think you know a great solution, leave comments! We would like to have this, it's just crazier than assumed :(
