This is correct, however I'm almost considering this to be a wontfix, given that the name of them is "screenshot". Unless you have an extremely vertical screen, then images with excessive height don't really seem to be desirable. The goal is not to showcase every possible admin option and setting as some plugins do, but to show what the plugin does and give examples of it.

In particular, screenshots of admin settings are less than helpful. We can't read them, we can't search on them, the only thing anybody can do is look at them and see a screen full of checkboxes.

Screenshots should fall into the normal screen-size ranges. 4:3 to 16:10 or similar. Wide, not tall.

The thing is that you may not want to show the whole screen in a screenshot, you may want to have an image focusing on such or such particular feature brought by the plugin. And there is no reason for this "focused image" to have the same aspect ratio as the whole screen (i.e. 4:3 or 16:10).

  • Resolution set to invalid
  • Status changed from new to closed

Yeah, I don't see a valid reason for this. If somebody comes up with one, feel free to reopen, but no, screenshots should fit to current norms of screens. Wide, not tall.
