I am seeing some borked symbols after icons in handbook headers. Win7, Opera v12.

Does that happened across make/core, not just the handbooks?

Something similar happens on some Android devices, where the text shows at full-size (unlike your screenshot which has tiny text). It shouldn't show at all.

Yeah, seems like it's make/core header issue, I mis-attributed it to handbook.

Yes, still like that at https://make.wordpress.org/core/ for me.

Opera is up to version 27 or so now. What version does this happen on? Not the latest, for sure.

v12 as reported. v27 crap is different browser altogether, that happens to reuse the brand. v12 is stable version of "old" branch.

I'm going to wontfix this. If someone wants to provide a patch for an older version of Opera, we'd gladly take it (assuming it doesn't break other browsers).
