Description

From an email report:

https://wordpress.org/about/privacy/cookies/

There is a link on the cookie policy to the website aboutcookies.org, this website is no longer updated, not mobile-friendly and have no plans to change anything as they have now removed the website from search engines (using noindex tags)

I suggest replacing it with knowcookies.com and for reasons you can read here: https://knowcookies.com/#reasons

I'm including a patch.

Swapping out this site seems like a reasonable suggestion, however, the URL being suggested doesn't fit the meaning of the sentence it's contained in:

To find out more on how to manage and delete cookies, visit aboutcookies.org

https://knowcookies.com/manage-cookies/ could be a workable landing page though, but it has no meaningful content other than links off to the browser guides. The only other spot on that site we'd probably want to link directly to https://knowcookies.com/#privacy

Perhaps the sentence can be reworded (Any suggestions from anyone?)

This change makes sense for sure, thanks @Ipstenu.
@dd32 reading through the optional links I feel the #privacy anchor link most suitable as it gives an overview before taking you to the manage guides. Taking the heading used there I reworked the string;
To find out more on how to avoid being tracked, visit <a href="%1$s">knowcookies.com</a>.

Applied in 5418.2.diff

Thoughts?

It was a while since the last activity on this ticket and earlier mentioned problems with mobile-friendliness and the website using noindex does not seem to appear anymore. Although this, the contents still does not seem to have been updated since 2019. Hence we still need to resolve this.

I think the suggestion provided by @garrett-eclipse looks good and may be a viable suggestion.
