Description

Like other teams, we also need profile badges for photo contributors and the photo team.

We can use this icon, https://developer.wordpress.org/resource/dashicons/#camera, and use any color.

I took the colour from the example image here, not realising that it was also the docs team colour :)

I picked that up after updating https://make.wordpress.org/meta/handbook/tutorials-guides/profile-badges/ via #6329.

The Photos site doesn't really have any unique visual design right now, so I just went with the example here due to lack of anything else to guide.

I'm re-opening this, but not rushing to change the colour..

While the sentiment in making this request, and its implementation, are appreciated, neither was done in consultation with the Photos Team (reporter was not on the team at the time). The team had decided before this ticket was raised to require a publication threshold (of 5 or 10 published photos) before awarding the contributor badge. The dashicon chosen happened to be what the team chose (though there were 2 options to choose from).

Anyhow, at this point the team has come to accept the implemented criteria and embraces being an easy badge to earn.

As for the badge color, I've gone with #CB00F0 (rgb(203,0,240)). It's a purple that is close in color to thematic siblings Openverse and Patterns but distinctive enough to stand apart. This badge color change was done in [21261-dotorg]:

Profiles: Assign unique color to Photo badges.

RGB value corresponds to #CB00F0.

Fixes #6293.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
