Description
Part of our weekly Polyglots meetings is a section of stats that we have historically gaterhered from this Polyglots Stats page.
Currently the stats are outdated so we'd like to look into collecting these stats on the WordPress.org servers to have them ready again for future meetings.
We'll want to collect the following stats:
- Number of releases by locale
- Number of releases by locale that are uptodate
- Number of releases by locale that are behind by minor versions
- Number of releases by locale that are behind by one major version
- Number of releases by locale that are behind more than one major version
- Number of locales total
- Number of locales at 100%
- Number of locales at 95%+
- Number of locales at 90%+
- Number of locales at 50%+
- Number of locales below 50%
- Number of locales with language packs
- Number of locales without project
- Number of requests total
- Number of requests unresolved
- Number of locale requests total
- Number of locale requests unresolved
- Number of GTEs
- Number of PTEs
- Number of contributors
- Translated WordPress sites in percent
To resolve this ticket we need two components:
- Collect the stats and store them in a database table.
- Output the stats with a comparison with the previous week.

In this PR, when the daily stats cron job is run we also store the translation stats in the new polyglot_stats table (see https://meta.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/6571).
We will also create a script that can display the latest stats for copy & paste for the Weekly Polyglots Meetings.
Maybe also add number of lines translated within core during a period between stats generated
That gives an impression how much effort is done to get it translated
