WordPress Releases Contributor Badge not showing on profiles

Previous release badges are displayed correctly, but the newer release-based badges (for example, WordPress 7.1) do not seem to be appearing for anyone.

I only noticed this recently, so I'm not sure whether this is an expected change, a delay in badge assignment, or a potential bug.

Could someone please confirm whether this is a known issue or if there is any ongoing work related to badge synchronization?

@iqbal1hossain I was also able to replicate this issue. I checked the profiles of multiple contributors to 7.1, and none of them received the 7.1 badge.

@iqbal1hossain and @mkrndmane The WordPress 7.1 contributor badges are now visible on profiles, so it appears there is typically a 2–3 day synchronization delay after a release. However, this delay can be confusing for contributors expecting the badge immediately upon release. It would be worth looking into optimizing or automating the badge assignment process so they appear right away.

Yes, I can confirm that the badge is now visible on my profile as well. It would be great if the process could be optimized or further automated so that badges are assigned as soon as the release data becomes available.
