Description
We've been getting a number of support questions in the various Slack channels. There's a possibility that people are mistaking Slack for a support channel, since the only mention of its purpose is hidden in the middle of the signup page:
The #wordpress support IRC channel will continue on. Slack will be used for contributing to the WordPress project, be it code, design, documentation, etc.
There's also a header titled I need help, which might add to our users' confusion.
I'd suggest adding a box of text, just below the WordPress and Slack logos, with our various support options. I've drafted a piece of text that could be used for this purpose:
Looking for help?
The Slack team is for the various contributors to the WordPress community (coders, designers, documentation writers, support volunteers, and meetup event organizers) to discuss how they'll be able to make WordPress better.
Your first stop should always be our documentation, where you’ll find information on everything from installing WordPress for the first time to creating your own themes and plugins. If you still have questions to ask, try our support forums, or the #wordpress IRC channel on irc.freenode.net.

- Resolution set to fixed
- Status changed from new to closed
Over the years this page has evolved a little, and a I need help with WordPress!
section was added which directs to the Support Forums (whose landing page is also Helphub)
I'm going to close this one as fixed for now, since the original intention seems to have been fulfilled. There's still some support requests in Slack, but it's far reduced from days of years past.
