Fault error message on plugin submission page

Description

I recently attempted to submit a plugin for review at http://wordpress.org/plugins/add/ with the word "WordPress" in the title. I kept receiving the following error message, even though the plugin name was not already taken (confirmed at http://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/):

"That name already exists. Please choose another name."

I later learned that "WordPress" is a forbidden word for most plugin submission titles - the error message should indicate that this is the issue.

I've now seen a few bug reports about this issue. Yeah, would be nice to fix this.

I know where this code is and I know why it's like that (I wrote that bit).

I'll look into making it more clear.
