#5620 new enhancement

Add link to view=all for moderators

Description

Moderators have the possibility to include archived and spammed topics when viewing:

  • A specific topic thread
  • A user's profile
  • Topic lists in a forum
  • the view "all-topics"

However, when operating from a mobile, it's not very user-friendly to edit the URL field in the browser and add this parameter.

Two suggestions:

  1. Add a convenient link (visible only to mods and admins) to view the same page with the view=all query parameter added.
  2. When watching a user's profile with the query parameter view=all enabled, include this parameter in the on page links for topics, replies and reviews.

Would it make more sense to "remove" the view=all feature and just have moderators always see such threads in forums/topics/etc everywhere?

I'd say no. Depending on the situation, one may not want it. And some views will be totally broken with this parameter.

Okay, I can understand some posts might be archived/hidden for a reason, and displaying that to others is definately not wanted.

Perhaps rather than "globally" I should've rephrased it to, are there any views where having it always enabled would make sense? For example, when viewing a users profile, specific forums, or a thread, but the views probably don't make sense to have it enabled at all.

Perhaps some kind of global toggle that would enable/disable it globally on all feasible pages... dreaming

I mean, that's easily doable if agreed that's a good solution, a toggle button to set a per-device/session cookie.
