If this is something that can be changed with code I'm willing to do the work. However, I don't understand where: https://github.com/WordPress/wordpress.org/search?q=%22Give+yourself+some+link+love%22

We have no code to block XYZ domains. That would explain why you can't find it. It doesn't exist.

It might be blocked by akismet, but that's on a anti spam level, not a code level. We will need examples to show that that's the case.

The search was not for the text "xyz". I tried searching for the text "Give yourself some link love" and I still do not understand why that is not found in the repo.

I tried searching for the text "Give yourself some link love" and I still do not understand why that is not found in the repo.

Unfortunately, most of the profiles code is not open-sourced, for various reasons that aren't really important.

But as Otto said, this isn't a code problem, this is an anti-spam problem. Evidently the TLD (Or, more likely, individual sites) are setting off alarm-bells in Akismet, likely due to a higher-level of abuse / spam from the TLD (which might also explain why its' more popular...)

Post the URL you'd like to update your profile with and a profiles admin can make it happen and train the anti-spam system in the process, but other than that, there's no changes that we can make via this ticket.

I'm closing this ticket, but you can still respond to it. There's no point keeping a Trac ticket open for something we can't change, aside from marking a profile update as not-spam and submitting an upstream report, which I'll do today.

Thanks for the explanation. I am trying to change my profile URL to https://breakfastco.xyz.

I am trying to change my profile URL

Updated! And marked the update as not-spam, which seems to have done the trick for that domain at least.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
