In the new theme directory the version number is gone. The current version number used to show on the download button text

I didn't port over the version number by choice. It has a limited influence on the download decision.

Adding it back because it used to be there in the old directory is not a good reason in my opinion.

I agree — the version number feels kind of irrelevant to me when looking for a theme. Far more important is the date in which theme was last updated.

For those curious, this information is still available in the developer logs.
