We are preparing WordCamp Tokyo 2017 site and found user's display name broken.

How to reproduce

  • Edit Profile on admin screen with first name(明) and last name(立花).
  • After updated, each name will be "?" and "??".

This is typical error on multibyte character languages which relates to character setting of MySQL.

May be related to #2280

@melchoyce Yes, same. #2027 is about 2016.tokyo.wordcamp.org
