Languages in the sidebar also includes English (US) which I don't count as a real translation.

What about variants like German formal (de_DE_formal)? And what about the localized versions of the plugin directory (e.g. https://de.wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-ads/)

The popover markup is there on localized directories, however the See all %s link is not displayed for some reason.

Ah, I think it's because the string was not fully translated since it was converted to a plural string in [5928].

GlotPress still displayed it as a translated string. I thought this was fixed in https://github.com/GlotPress/GlotPress-WP/issues/236, apparently not.

Great, the localized plugin directory is fixed now. :)

Any idea why there is no German formal showing?

This seems to be a general issue with (this) locale variant(s). Antispam Bee has 100% German formal translations but the language is not showing too: https://wordpress.org/plugins/antispam-bee/

Or is this intentional?

Language variants are currently not exposed on wordpress.org. They are only available through the language setting in WordPress itself.

This triggers my OCD once in a while :)

Replying to ocean90:

Languages in the sidebar also includes English (US) which I don't count as a real translation.

Can we replace "X has been translated into Y locales" with "X is available in Y languages", so that the numbers in the main block and in the sidebar are consistent?

  • Keywords close added

Since there are no contributors for en_US I'd say no.

I don't see any issues with "X is available in Y languages. Thank you to the translators for their contributions." It does not imply that there's a en_US translation, it just mentions the total number of languages and links to all existing translations.

I can see both sides, however I think I agree with @ocean90. There is a difference between the amount of languages a plugin is available in, and the amount of languages it was translated into. And it is shown here :)
